Google has recently concluded its I/O developer conference in San Francisco, California. During the event, the tech giant had announced a whole lot of new features that it will be releasing for its devices. Google had also announced a new VR (virtual reality) tool which the company claims will allow any user to create 'professional level' VR content without the need of learning any complex software. The company has named the feature 'Tour Creator'. The software, " enables students, teachers, and anyone with a story to tell, to make a VR tour using imagery from Google Street View or their own 360 photos".

Further, the Tour Creator will allow a user to edit and manipulate the images while editing. Once the content has been created, it can be published to the Google's 3D content portal, called Poly. The output is then published in the WebXR, which makes them compatible with Google's VR platform including Cardboard and Daydream. The existing VR apps and Expeditions which are available on both Android and iOS platforms will also be supported by the Tour Creator.

With the release of the new software, Google is aiming to make it easy for the non-professionals to create 360-degree photos into a VR-ready interactive guide. The new tool will have notes and voiceovers so that it's easier for users of all age group to create the VR content. As per Charlie Reisinger, who is a Technology Director in a school in Pennsylvania, said that "The technology gets out of the way and enables students to focus on crafting fantastic visual stories".

As of now, the tool is not available for download on either Google's PlayStore or Apple's App Store. However as it is a web-based tool, it can be accessed using a standard web-browser. Google has also mentioned that it is already in works with schools and other educational institutes. Apart from the educational institutes, Google is also working with airlines and real-estate companies that are already using the software in order to develop training videos for new cabin-crew and also the virtual walkthrough of homes and apartments.
