How To Get FASTag From Airtel Payment Bank At Discounted Price
To help vehicle owners, Airtel Payment Bank has partnered with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) and the Indian Highways Management Company Limited (IHMCL), to offer FASTags in India. Under this partnership, users can buy FASTag online via Airtel Thanks app and offline through Airtel's retail stores.
Apart from that, customers will Rs. 50 cashback on FASTag purchase made via the app. In fact, customers can buy FASTag from select banking points of Airtel Payments Bank. To buy FASTag, customers need to share a copy of the Registration Certificate (RC) and registration number. Furthermore, FASTag is already linked to a registered Airtel Payments Bank account or wallet to enable instant automatic deduction of toll charges.
Besides, there is no need to recharge FASTag separately and bank/Wallet balance is good enough. FASTag users also get 2.5 percent cashback from NHAI on all toll payments done using FASTag. For the unware, FASTag is basically a tag that is now mandatory to attach to the windshield of your car from the inside. This comes with Radio-frequency Identification (RFID), and it is linked with the registration details of your vehicles. If you drive through any toll plaza, there will be dedicated lanes that will have that tag reader, which will deduct the amount automatically.
Meanwhile, Minister of Road Transport and Highways Gadkari informed that the tags will be available for free at toll plazas from November 22. NHAI will provide these tags free of cost until December 1. In addition, these tags will be available at the RTO office and transport hubs. Besides, NHAI hopes that all toll income will be collected via tags by December this year. The minister also said that this would cost the government Rs. 150-200 crore. Even though the tags are free but users need to link it to their bank accounts.
