iPad has helped a Canadian to step into US
This is quite a peculiar story and as you read you might feel how strange people are. Evidently, Martin Reisch, a resident of Quebec decided to go to United States for delivering the Christmas gifts but forgot to take his passport. When you are asked what would have happened to him, without any doubts you will say he would have returned home. But that is where the story has gone strange.
Reisch has successfully made his to United States without having his passport. Wondering how it is possible? He had carried his iPad along with him which has helped him in this situation. He had been driving and he had decided to give a try rather than going back home.
He had handed over his iPad to the concerned officer and after about six minutes he had gained entrance to the country. He says that he took the iPad and handed it over to the officer. After a good four to five minutes the officer returned and after a long pause he wished him Merry Christmas.
As per the US law, the Canadians ought to present their original passports or the advanced driving license while they enter US but it doesn't say anything about the scans or copies of the documents and also nothing about the ones that are stored on iOS devices.
Martin Reisch is quite lucky that the officer at the border has accepted his passport's copy on iPad. He has made us think if these kind of documentation storage on mobile devices are good for the future.
