LG announces the schedule of Android 4.0 upgrade

LG follows its rivals like Samsung, Motorola and HTC and announces the upgrade schedule to the Android 4.0 ICS operating system for a wide range of its smartphones. The Facebook page of LG has a new post that states that this global upgrading schedule will happen in the second and third quarter of 2012 and then followed by an international roll out.

This upgrade will start in the second quarter of the year with some smartphone models like Optimus LTE, Prada, Optimus 2X, Optimus Sol, my Touch Q and Eclipse. After these, the next set of models that follow include Optimus 3D, Optimus Black, Optimus Big, Optimus Q2 and Optimus EX that will get the upgrade in the third quarter.

The company has assured that it will take all the possible measures to provide a smooth operating system in a timely fashion. The mentioned start dates of the upgrade might change depending on the market as the requirements in each country are different and they also depend on the model of the smartphone and on carrier.
