Wearable devices have come a long way in the past year, moving from being a simple fitness tracking tool. Such devices are the future, as predicted by a leading analyst recently at a conference. Samsung, Sony, Motorola and now LG have shown their interest in transforming the wearable tech market. In the wearable tech market, Samsung is the leader, and very soon Apple will launch its much awaited iWatch on Sep. 9.
Today's popular wearable tech -- smartwatches have thus far failed to attract consumers. In fact, early shipments and sales data show doomed status. However, next-generation smartwatches might change all this. The LG G Watch R and the Motorola Moto 360 are two fine examples of superb engineering. Both look identical to regular wrist watches, and that's what makes them different from the rest.
The Motorola 360 was originally announced earlier this year, and we can expect the official unveiling later with full details later in the evening. The LG G Watch R, on the other hand, boasts a circular shape, just like the Moto 360. The watch will be officially showcased at the ongoing IFA tech show in Berlin.

LG G Watch R VS Motorola Moto 360 – Design and Display
In terms of resolution, the LG G Watch R's display comes in a 320 x 320- pixels, while the Moto 360 has a 320 x 290 - pixel resolution display. The Moto 360 uses a 1.5-inch LCD screen, whereas the G Watch features a 1.3-inch plastic OLED screen. By far, both watches have stainless steel frame, making them elite in nature.
LG G Watch R VS Motorola Moto 360 – Processor
On the hardware part, the G Watch R comes with a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, paired with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of on-board memory. The Moto 360, meanwhile, could pack a Texas Instruments processor, 512MB of RAM and at least 4GB of on-board storage. We don't know much about the latter device, as Motorola hasn't launched the watch just yet.

The LG G Watch R uses a 410mAh battery, which should last a day. Again, we do know whether the Moto 360 has a long battery life, but it would come with charging dock, according to few reports.

In the name of connectivity, the G Watch R offers Bluetooth connectivity, heart-rate monitor, Gyro/ Accelerometer/ Compass), Barometer, among others. The Moto 360, on the other hand, is expected to arrive with more-or-less similar connectivity options.

Both the Moto 360 and LG G Watch R run on the latest Android Wear platform promoted by Google. This means that they won't be too different in respect of features and functionality.

The LG G Watch R is rugged in nature, all thanks to IP67 certification. The Moto 360, meanwhile, may or may not come with such valuable feature as details are still awaited.
LG G Watch R VS Motorola Moto 360 – Release Date, Price and Quick Verdict
The LG G Watch R is expected to cost a whooping $300 or Rs. 18,000, when it goes on sale in select markets in Q4. Motorola Moto 360, on the other hand, is speculated to be priced $50 cheaper compared to the LG G Watch R.
At the end, we can already sense that the LG G Watch R has been designed to cater to a particular section of the market. Otherwise, the device seems to be well designed and feels great.
