LG G2 to Taste Android 5.0 Lollipop Update in Q2 2015

LG India has announced that the G2 smartphone will be receiving the Android 5.0 Lollipop update in Q2 2015. Followed by the LG G3 which got the update last year, this device is the second in the G series. Recently, LG L90 dual SIM got the Lollipop update in the Indian market.

Lollipop update comes with new material design which offers a bold, colorful and responsive UI, refreshing notification system. It will also allow the users to see the notification in the lock screen and they will get displayed like banners on the top of the screen.

Additionally, there is a do-not-disturb feature added to the notification bar. This update also contains battery optimization, which includes battery saver mode, job scheduling and a new developer tool called Battery Historian -- which tracks the battery consumption by an application.

The LG G2 4G LTE variant comes with a 5.2-inch (1920×1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display churning out a massive 423 ppi pixel density. It comes powered by a 2.26 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) processor with 480 MHz Adreno 330 GPU coupled with 2GB DDR3 RAM and it runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS.

There is a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, OIS, 1080p video recording at 30 fps and a 2.1 MP front-facing shooter as well. The device comes with an array of connectivity options which include 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+ 42Mbps, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, GPS / aGPS. The device which measures 138.5 x 70.9 x 9.1 mm and weight 14one and all3 grams comes in two variants depending on the storage capacity i.e. 16GB adn 32GB of internal memory. It is powered by a 3000 mAh battery.
