Leaving apart all the first high-end batch of smartphones that got launched or showcased at the Mobile World Congress 2014 back in February, there are few more devices that are yet to become globally available. These yet to come devices have somehow instilled some serious amount of excitement among the smartphone lovers. One from this lot is none other than LG's G3 smartphone which boasts a gigantic Quad HD display resolution.
The phone was unveiled last month and is probably LG's flagship device for this year and it should be noted that this particular handset is one among the few handsets which come with the 2K display. The LG G3 was made available in the native market Korea last month itself. However, the company has not rolled out the handset globally.
However, you might not have to wait for the global launch anymore, as today LG has announced the global availability of the handset from June 27th. The LG G3 would launch in Asia starting from Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, and the Philippines followed by the rest of Asia, Europe and the Middle East regions in July.
If you are somehow not familiar with the handset, here is a brief rundown on the specs. LG G3 comes with a massive 5.5-inch (2560×1440 pixels) Quad HD IPS display churning out the pixel density of 538ppi and it is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AC) processor with Adreno 330 GPU. It would be offered either with 2GB or 3GB RAM depending on the market with Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) OS.
Imaging aspect of the handset is pretty innovative as it features 13MP rear camera with OIS, Dual LED Flash and a new LG technology that uses Laser to Auto Focus and 4K video recording. You will also get a 2.1MP front-facing shooter.
LG will be offering 16GB / 32GB internal memory which can be further expanded up to 128GB using microSD card and connectovty options will include 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 , GPS, NFC and Slim Port.
LG G3 comes powered by a 3000 mAh removable battery with a Qi wireless charging facility.
The European and Asian variants of the handset will feature wireless charging but the portable wireless charger will be separately sold in these markets. However, there are not much details pertaining to the handset's price. But it is reportedly said that the company will be announcing the pricing of LG G3 locally at the launch events.
