In a move to taste the success in the hybrid tablet-laptop category, Indian based leading device maker Micromax has entered into personal computing today with the launch of Canvas LapTab in India.
The event took place in Delhi and Micromax Canvas LapTab has been given a price tag of Rs 14,999. The hybrid device will be exclusively available on e-commerce site Amazon India from May 5th onwards.
The company says that the device will be introduced to the offline retail channels countrywide later in the year.
Micromax Canvas LapTab - What's Special?
Well, Micromax Canvas LapTab is a 10-inch WXGA IPS touch-enabled display device powered by Windows-8.1 and Office 365 with an Intel processor inside. GizBot had already confirmed the main specs in our exclusive earlier this week.
Further, the Laptab is pre-bundled with in-built 3G SIM slot for mobile data connectivity, 7,700 mAh battery, 2MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera for video calling, Intel Atom Processor with speed upto 1.83Ghz and a 2GB RAM.

"We will launch five to six laptab models by March next year, which will more than 10-inches in screen size," said Vikas Jain, co-founder of Micromax, which has a 20% market share in the smartphone segment, but slipped out of the top five tablet makers in the October-December quarter last year, as per International Data Corporation.
But all of us are waiting for the dual OS tablet, also called LapTab, which the company showcased in CES 2014 and it was also suppose to hit the retail shelves of Indian market this year.
At a price of around Rs 14,999, Micromax Canvas LapTab will portray a direct competition to premium hybrids present in the market which come at high price points but similar features.
These include the range from HP, Dell, Lenovo, Acer and Asus. As Micromax Canvas LapTab has also been announced with a guaranteed upgrade to the Windows 10 operating system,
