MP: Gaur launches GRP Helpline App for Rail Passenger Safety

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Babulal Gaur today launched the mobile app 'GRP Helpline' here. He termed it "an important step towards ensuring the safety of railway passengers".

Gaur referred to the death of Bhopal Development Authority CEO M G Rusia and the recent incident where a woman passenger was thrown out by some miscreants, and said the app will help in keeping a check over such incidents in an effective manner.

He said that he will also meet Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and advocate giving more powers to Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force for ensuring safety of railway passengers.

GRP Director General of Police Maithlisharan Gupt informed that GRP of other states will also use the app, which can be downloaded from Google Play store. "The app provides for assured quality response across the country," he added.
