New FASTag Rules: Update KYC, Replace Tags for Enhanced Security
New changes to FASTag usage have been implemented starting today (August 1). These include replacing old FASTags, updating KYC details, and other procedures. Check the detailed information here.
According to the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), new FASTag rules and the electronic toll collection system are effective from August 1. This initiative aims to enhance the computer's ability to identify FASTags and improve security.

FASTag users must update their KYC details by October 31. Those who purchased FASTags three to five years ago need to link their KYC details by this deadline. Additionally, FASTags older than five years must be replaced entirely by October 31.
From today, users must link their vehicle registration number and chassis number with the FASTag. New vehicle owners are required to update their registration number within 90 days of purchase.
These new rules will impact FASTag users, especially those with older vehicles or older FASTags. Failure to comply with these rules may cause unnecessary difficulties at toll booths.
Users should ensure their FASTag is affixed to the front of the vehicle for easy identification at toll booths. It is also crucial that the FASTag is linked to the user's mobile number.
Specifically, check the purchase date of your FASTag. If it was bought within the last three to five years, complete the KYC update before October 31. For FASTags older than five years, replace them entirely. Additionally, users must link their vehicle's registration and chassis numbers to the FASTag.
These changes aim to streamline toll collection and enhance security for all users. By adhering to these new rules, users can avoid potential issues at toll booths and ensure a smoother travel experience.
