Nokia N9 gets Android 4.0 ICS

Nokia N9 gets Android 4.0 ICS

Nokia N9 is based on MeeGo. This smartphone will soon sport the Android 4.0 ICS update as well. The ICS is the most recent Android operating system as of now. An independent developer forum, NIT Droid has tried and launched the Alpha version of the Project Mayhem. This project aims to bring the Android ICS operating system to Nokia N9.

This news actually broke weeks ago when the developers released the screenshots of Android ICS running on Nokia N9. Now, the forum has officially announced the release of the update. They have also released the instructions on how users can obtain ICS on their N9 smartphones.

Nokia N9 is a popular smartphone across the world. The fans of Nokia have turned against the brand since its decision to let go of the MeeGo and focus more on Windows Phone. The NIT Droid's program on N9 seems promising. If all the users of the smartphone get the complete Android ICS functionality, the device can have the dual boot option.

Nokia N9 is a smartphone without any buttons at the front. It has a 3.9 inch AMOLED display with 854 x 480 pixel resolution. It has a scratch resistant Gorilla Glass technology. Let us hope that this Nokia Android phone becomes a trend setter in the smartphone market.
