PM Modi Unveils Ambitious AI Mission at GPAI Summit 2023: Integrating AI with Healthcare and Agriculture

India is taking bold strides in artificial intelligence (AI) as it hosts the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) Summit 2023. The three-day GPAI Summit 2023 in New Delhi brings together representatives from 28 member countries and the European Union. With more than 150 startups and major tech companies showcasing AI applications and products, the event explores urgent matters shaping the dynamic landscape of AI.

Union Minister of Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, reiterated India's commitment to leveraging AI for inclusive growth. The government aims to provide native language-based citizen services, accessible healthcare, and precision agriculture techniques to enhance crop yields.

Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, emphasized the rapid pace of AI research in recent months. Transparency, bias-free algorithms, and user trust were highlighted as essential components for successfully integrating AI into various industries.

The Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI), consisting of 29 countries, is at the forefront of guiding the responsible development and use of AI globally. The GPAI India meet gains prominence as the first major event under India's leadership as the new council chair, taking over from France in November.
