Apple has never participated in CES which is the biggest tech show in the world but reports state that the company is planning to host an event in New York this month. The event will mainly focus on a specific media related announcement.
The report claims that the event will not deal as it was rumored to be and so we can't expect the Apple TV or iPad 3. The report says that the Apple TV will be launched in the later half of the year and the event regarding its launch will definitely happen either in Hollywood or in Silicon Valley. It also says that the sources indicate that it will not relate to the upcoming iPad 3.
Eddy Cue, the SVP of Internet Software and Services of Apple is involved in this event. The media units of Apple like the iBookStore, AppStore, iCLoud and iTunes Store are the responsibilities of Cue and has he is involved, this event might involve some advertising or publishing announcement.
