Realme to Return Under OPPO Umbrella as Sub-Brand: Report

Realme will rejoin OPPO as a sub-brand, while OnePlus will keep operating as an independent label. Both brands will still work closely with OPPO on products and markets. The change is designed to align strategies without disrupting current device launch plans.

Under the new structure, Realme and OnePlus will target different price bands and user groups. OPPO aims to avoid overlap while using shared research and supply chains. Industry analysts believe this alignment could support OPPO’s global growth and help lift its overall market share.

Realme OPPO OnePlus strategy and leadership changes

Realme CEO Sky Li will head the combined sub-brand operations for OPPO. OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis will continue in the existing role. OPPO will also absorb Realme into its after-sales service network, so Realme customers will use OPPO’s service centres and systems.

Realme’s product roadmap stays unchanged despite the structural shift. Upcoming phones will arrive on the original timetable, including the realme neo 8, which is planned to launch this month in China. For buyers, the most visible change will be shared after-sales support under OPPO.

As noted, Realme is expected to launch Neo 8 in the Chinese market, which will feature a massive single-cell 8000mAh silicon carbon battery, making one of the biggest batteries on a mainstream smartphone. The phone will also offer complete water resistance, presumably in the form of an IP68+IP69 rating. Additionally, the Realme Neo 8 will come with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the display.
