Samsung rolls out Disney-inspired AR Emojis for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ in India
Samsung is claiming that the AR Emojis use facial recognition technology, considering the fact the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ lacks a dedicated hardware like the iPhone X does.
With the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S9 series, Samsung took on the iPhone X's Animoji by releasing its own 'AR Emojis'. The AR Emojis that comes with both the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ replicated the expressions of a users face.
At the time of the launch, the South Korean tech giant had showcased special AR Emojis which made use of Disney characters including Mickey and Minnie Mouse and also made a promise to bring characters from its movies like Frozen, Zootopia and The Incredibles.
However, at the time of the launch, the AR Emojis had limited availability and was available for the South Korean customers. It is being reported now that Samsung is rolling out the AR Emojis for the other regions of the world including India.
Beginning from today, the users will be able to design AR emojis for the classic Disney characters Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Donald Duck to perform actions of their choice. By making use of the front camera, users will be able to see the AR Emojis move or make expressions to match with their own faces.
As per some reports from the web, Samsung is claiming that the AR Emojis use facial recognition technology, considering the fact the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ lacks a dedicated hardware like the iPhone X does, along with the deep learning in order to track almost 100 different points on a user's face and produce a 3D replica. Along with the custom emojis, the users will also get an option to create emojis based on their face.
The report further suggests that Samsung has also introduced the 'My Emoji' feature that will allow the users to send various expressions of their face as a response to a conversation. These expressions or the versions of the faces can be directly accessed using the Samsung keyboard. At the moment, there are about 18 reactions that a user can send using their own emoji, however, word was that the tech giant will soon increase this number to 54, which means more new reactions are in the store for the users. That said, it would be interesting to see how good the new reactions turn out to be which will be added to the 'My Emoji' list. We will keep you posted with the same so stay tuned with us.
