Samsung Starts Manufacturing Bespoke AI Washer Dryer at Chennai Plant
Samsung has commenced the production of its new Bespoke AI Washer Dryer series at its Chennai facility. This move underscores Samsung's dedication to the 'Make in India' initiative. The range is designed to meet the changing needs of Indian consumers by combining global innovation with local manufacturing, offering smarter and more efficient laundry solutions tailored for Indian homes.
The Chennai plant, a major hub for Samsung in India, produces a variety of consumer electronics including televisions, air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines. This facility plays a crucial role in supplying these products to millions of households across the country.

Bespoke AI Washer Dryer Features
The Bespoke AI Washer Dryers are equipped with advanced features like the AI Wash function. This uses multiple sensors to assess weight, fabric type, and soil level, ensuring optimal results for each load. Additionally, the Flex Auto Dispense feature accurately releases detergent as needed. The AI EcoBubble™ technology provides powerful cleaning while being gentle on clothes.
Energy efficiency is a key aspect of this range. The AI Energy Mode allows users to monitor and control energy consumption, potentially saving up to 70% on energy use. For those concerned about hygiene, the Air Wash feature sanitizes clothes by eliminating 99.9% of bacteria using only heated air.
Design and Availability
The new washer dryers boast a sleek Flat Glass and Contour design that complements modern home aesthetics. They are available in models with a 12kg wash capacity and a 7kg dry capacity, starting at INR 63,990. These appliances integrate washing and drying into one space-saving unit.
This makes them particularly suitable for larger families and urban dwellings where convenience and performance are highly valued. According to a recent Samsung study, there is a growing preference among Indian families for washer dryers to protect clothes from dust and germs while avoiding air-drying hassles.
By manufacturing these innovative appliances locally, Samsung not only supports the 'Make in India' initiative but also caters directly to the specific needs of Indian consumers. This strategic move ensures that cutting-edge technology is accessible to Indian households while promoting local industry growth.
