Seagate Officially Launches Two New External Storage Drives in India
When it comes external and portable storage drives in India, nobody gains as much trust and vote of confidence compared to Seagate. And now it seems like the company is set to offer even more with new offerings in the external storage drives department with more new advancements and technology related to the same also arriving.
According to reports, storage solutions company Seagate has launched two new external storage devices, dubbed Backup Plus FAST portable drive and the second generation of Backup Plus Slim for the Indian market.
The Backup Plus FAST is basically a portable 4TB storage option device that promises to offer twice the capacity and speed of existing external portable drives that have been previously released by the company. This new drive features a superspeed USB 3.0 interface, while supporting data transfer speeds of up to 220MB per second.
The device also also includes a mobile backup application to back up digital data on mobile devices with the help of the Seagate Mobile Backup app for iOS or Android-based mobile devices. The back ups made from mobile devices can also be sent directly to the drive via a WiFi connection or even via cloud services such as Dropbox or Google Drive.

The second generation Seagate Backup Plus Slim, on the other hand, offers a compact design and a similar superspeed USB 3.0 interface, with a 12.1mm form factor. The metal-top case of these drives, set to be available in red, blue, black and silver, is resistant scratches and fingerprints.

While the 4TB Seagate Backup Plus FAST portable drive is currently available in stores at an MRP of Rs 25,000, the Seagate Backup Plus Slim portable drive is available at Rs 4250 for the 500GB version, Rs 6000 for the 1TB capacity version and Rs 10,500 for the 2TB variant.
