SHARP Launches New Window AC Lineup With Cooling For Indian Summers: Check Price, Features

SHARP has launched a new range of window air conditioners in India, and this time, the focus isn’t just on cooling.

The company is introducing what it says is the country’s first window AC with active air purification, alongside its new Ryohu (inverter) and Ryohu-FS (fixed-speed) series. The idea is to combine everyday cooling with features aimed at improving indoor air quality.

Cooling With Added Air Purification

One of the key additions here is SHARP’s Plasmacluster technology, which is available on select models. It works by releasing positive and negative ions into the air, with the goal of reducing bacteria, allergens, and odours while the AC is running.

It’s not something you usually see in window ACs, which tend to focus purely on cooling.

Designed For Indian Summer Conditions

The new range is built to handle high temperatures, with SHARP saying the ACs can operate in conditions up to 52°C.

Features like turbo mode and twin rotary inverter compressors are aimed at delivering faster cooling, while Coanda airflow and 4-way auto swing are meant to spread cool air more evenly across the room.

There’s also a 4-in-1 convertible mode, which lets users adjust the cooling capacity based on their needs. That can be useful if you’re trying to balance performance and energy use through the day.

Two Series, Different Approach

The Ryohu inverter series is offered in a 1.45-ton configuration, with both 3-star and 5-star ratings. It includes multiple operating modes, a touch panel display, and features like auto-restart for everyday use.

The Ryohu-FS fixed-speed series covers a wider range, from 1.41 ton to 1.70 ton, and comes with 2-star and 3-star ratings. These models lean more towards consistent, heavy-duty cooling, with a long air throw of up to 18 metres and durability-focused additions like copper condensers and anti-corrosion coating.

Pricing And Availability

The fixed-speed Ryohu-FS models start at ₹34,490, while the inverter-based Ryohu series starts at ₹39,990.

Both come with a 5-year comprehensive warranty, and the inverter models also include a 10-year compressor warranty. The new ACs are available across retail stores and online platforms in India.
