Indian original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and IoT brand Smartron today announced its plan to roll out Qualcomm Mesh Networking platform for IoT connected devices for the Indian market.
The company in collaboration with Qualcomm is aiming to build a robust ecosystem of connected devices and services for smart home.
" With Smartron's AI-powered IoT platform tronX, we have developed a strong ecosystem of products and services in the home automation vertical and we are looking forward to integrating some of Qualcomm technologies' technical expertise to build innovative solutions for the Indian market," said Mahesh Lingareddy, Founder & Chairman of Smarton.
The 'Mesh Wi-Fi' platform will include 'Qualcomm Wi-Fi SON (Self-Organising Network) Feature suite', which is designed to ensure corner to corner Wi-Fi coverage in a house.
The platform will enable the rollout of new home automation devices and products for consumers in the next few months.
It also includes integrated voice capabilities that support smart voice assistant to help consumers with simple daily tasks such as telling the time, weather, calendar events, and control IoT devices using voice.

To recall, Smartron has recently unveiled its Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered IoT 'tronX.
TronX and TronX Life, a first of its kind in the world, intelligent ecosystem that connects a range of devices, sensors, and systems to the tronX core, will offer highly intelligent, always evolving experiences and services. The services have further been initially targeted towards personal, home, health and infra verticals.
