Indian based e-retailer, Snapdeal has introduced Scan and Sell feature for it seller. In this mobile application, it will enable the sellers to list their sales product with a simple products barcode scanning and Keying in the pricing details.
The e-retailer reveals that this Scan and Sell feature is first by any Indian e-commerce platform to simplify and automate the process of listing products for sale. For this initiative, Snapdeal has collaborated with GS1, a leading global organization dedicated to the design and implementation of global standards in order to assist in the creation and maintenance of large volumes of barcode data required to cater to the wide assortment of products available on its platform.

The advantage over the Scan & Sell feature that it reduces the errors which are caused during listing the products manually, while with this feature sellers can scan, list and sell easily. As the Scan & Sell feature is currently available for selected products in electronics and fashion categories, the company planning to extend this to the entire products in the future.
