Sony Announces Xperia Ion At Rs 36,999; Smart Watch And Android ICS Upgrade For Existing 2011 Range in India [Report]

In another major development, Sony has announced update to Android 4.0 ICS for its specific 2011 Xperia range of devices with some major performance improvements and bug fixes. The first to receive the ICS update is Sony Xperia P. This will be followed by Sony Xperia S which will happen within two days as per the sources. The 4.0 ICS update has already started rolling out as an OTA and also through PC Companion software for Xperia P. Next in line for the ICS update would be other Xperia models like Sony Xperia Go, Xperia U and Xperia Sola.

Major improvements expected with the ICS update includes:

• Updated sense user interface with improved lock screen


• Resizable widgets


• Extended standby mode


• New applications including ‘Walkman’, ‘Album’ and ‘Movies’
