Sony Ericsson will become only Sony in mid-2012

If you are a dead hard fan of Sony Ericsson and you find it mouthful to say Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro, then there is good news for you out there. You will definitely be glad to know that the company has decided to drop one word from that name and this will come into effect from the next year.

We already know as the company, Sony previously announced its intention in acquiring the stake of Ericsson in the collaboration Sony Ericsson before a couple of months. This transaction is estimated to get over by the month of January 2012.

However, we all know for sure that this name change from Sony Ericsson to only Sony, inevitable earlier will not happen within the middle of 2012. After the take over by Sony, the brand will concentrate only on the sale of smartphones and it will drop the current sales of feature phones entirely.

The Executive VP as well as the Head of Sales and Marketing, Kristian Tear of Sony Ericsson has mentioned that there are lot of plans going on in getting the right branding but all this will be done within the middle of the next year. It also indicates the rise in the advertising and marketing investments. He also states that the company was not so fierce before as they are now and that they will come up from it, refocus on what is desired and invest in building up the brand in selected markets as well as in India.

With the company's focus now solely being on the smartphones, we as consumers can expect much more and better products from Sony Ericsson, sorry Sony in the near future.
