Sony launches Xperia Sola in India on May 18
In March 2012, Sony announced a new mobile under the Xperia NXT lineup of smartphones. The new handset is dubbed Sony Xperia Sola. The Facebook page of Sony Mobile has been teasing the launch of the smartphone. It is now officially confirmed that the device will launch in India soon.
It is reported that Infibeam, the online retailer is taking the orders for the device. The price in India of the device as per the online retailer is Rs 22,999. The smartphone will be available from May 18th. The handset will be available in red, black and white colors.
The Xperia Sola features the new floating touch technology of Sony. It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. It is upgradeable to the Android 4.0 ICS OS soon. It has a 3.7 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels.
The handset is powered by a 1 GHz dual core processor. It has 8 GB internal memory, 512 MB RAM and a micro SD card slot. It has a 5 MP camera at the rear that can high definition videos of 720p@30 fps.
Recently, we reported that the Xperia U will be available for a price of Rs 16,499 online. The company launched the Xperia S handset in India in April. Looks like Sony is expanding its smartphone lineup with a number of new models.
