Sony VPL-HW50ES: Full HD 3D Home Cinema Projector Goes on Sale in India for Rs 2,59,900


Leading electronic appliance manufacturer Sony has launched a full HD 3D home cinema projector - the VPL-HW50ES model retailing for Rs 2,59,900. The new home projector is designed around Sony's 'Reality Creation' technology. As per the company sources, the highlight of this model will be the high brightness support of up to 1,700 lumens. They explained that this brightness level was achieved by improving built in lamp’s light efficiency and also the optical block optimization.

The new projector from Sony will be two modes - Bright Cinema and Bright TV Mode. There is an expected 30% improvement in the brightness level while operating in these modes compared to Sony’s previous models. The point worth mentioning is that company was able to achieve these brightness levels without compromising on the color reproduction.

VPL-HW50ES model will have a contrast ratio of more than 100,000:1. The home projector has a contrast enhancer that is designed to analyze each scene and then optimize the contrast in real-time. The enhancer can adjust for dark and bright parts of the image by itself. There are also some functional upgrades in this HD model when compared to previous ones like a 3D sync transmitter, a wider lens and noise reduction. It has a lens vertical shift in the range +/- 71 per cent and noise level reduced to 21dB. The VPL-HW50ES is available in black and white colour.
