Tata Docomo to tap Facebook for Marketing push
Tata Docomo will be using Facebook to give a push to its digital marketing drive, a top official said today. "We will use Facebook for cross-reference of customers data and sending them targeted messages," Tata Teleservices Ltd Head-Digital Business, Praveen Gupta said here today.
The project is being carried out on a pilot basis and will be introduced commercially shortly. "We have carried out a pilot wherein based on a customer's browsing history we can send him personalised or customised services that will mostly be our value-added services," Gupta said.

He said the messages will appear on the right hand side of the user's screen and not in the Facebook wall to push VAS services and alerts. Speaking about the company's Millenials Decoded survey on people upto 34 years of age, he said 40 per cent of the people take to the Internet as the first source of news and 45 per cent for entertainment news.
Through mobiles and laptops, it is 33 per cent for news and 36 per cent for entertainment, while traditional sources like newspapers, magazine and television are below 20 per cent. However, when it came to trust and credibility the traditional media topped the chart, he added.
