Tesla Cybertruck Can Take Bullets, Sledgehammer Shots And Still Not Budge
Tesla is here again with another automobile and this time it's a truck. Branded as the Tesla Cybertruck, the electric vehicle was showcased at the new design studio in California. CEO Elon Musk unveiled the massive new truck designed with unique angles. It looks like Tesla's answer to the Ford fighting Pickup.
Tesla Cybertruck Price, Features
The launch of the Tesla Cybertruck showed off the truck's angular toughness, where it took shots from a hammer and didn't even take a dent. Tesla has launched the Cybertruck in three variants with one, two, and three motors. The EV giant revealed that the single motor setup will put the motor on the rear axle, whereas the dual-motor setup put one motor on each axle.
The new Cybertruck is priced at $39,900 (approx. Rs. 2,861,000) for the single motor version. It is believed to run good for 250 miles (402 km) and can tow up to 3,400 kgs. The truck is believed to reach 0 to 60mph in 6.5 seconds. The other variant with dual motor is priced at $49,000 (approx. Rs. 3,578,000) and can tow roughly 4,500 kg. It can also reach 60mph in 4.5 seconds with approximately 480 km of range.
Lastly, the Tesla Cybertruck third variant with three motors is priced at $69,000 (approx. Rs. 5,013,000) and can hit 60 mph in less than 60 seconds and can tow up to 6,350 kg. The powerful truck is expected to go more than 800 km of range. Elon Musk failed to reveal how the three motor variants will run.
Tesla Cybertruck Details Not Revealed
The launch of the Tesla Cybertruck was a short ~25-minute presentation by the CEO. However, he did not reveal certain details about the new electric pickup. For one, we do not know when the Cybertruck will head into production and hit the road. "We need something different. We need sustainable energy now," he said to push forth the environmental-friendly agenda.
At the same time, the Tesla Cybertruck failed the Tesla Armor Glass test, which crashed when a volunteer was asked to throw an object. Yet, the truck passed the sledgehammer and bullet tests. The truck, which looks straight out of a sci-fi, packs 120V and 240V power outlets and an onboard air compressor. A report shows that pickup trucks make up about 15 percent of the US vehicles and Tesla hopes to wedge in that market.
