Tesla New Update Makes Autopilot Even Better
Tesla has added a new software update for its electric cars which will improve the driving visualization of all Tesla car models including the Model S, X, and the Model 3. Now the screen on Tesla cars will show more detailed information about the road, surrounding vehicles, pedestrians on the road, and more. The most interesting part of the update is that it will show the traffic cones specifically.
The company has added the traffic cone icons that show you an orange color cone on your display whenever you are passing by of standing near the cones. Earlier the company has added icons like motorcyclists, trucks, and more.
Before this update, the traffic cones were considered as obstacles on the way and the warning was triggered by the system to the driver, but now drivers will know what's exactly there.
According to the reports, the addition of traffic cone icons in the navigation system will improve the capabilities of the Autopilot feature of electric cars. The Autopilot feature is capable of changing lanes on a highway and detect objects and vehicles around the car.
However, it's not a fully automated driving system and drivers have to stay alert on the road. With the inclusion of this new icon navigation system will avoid cones and suggest a lane change if the sensors on the car detect the object.
Besides, the new update also adds a new stopping mode known as "Hold" which will trigger braking when slowing down. The update also improves the power consumption and claims that 5 percent power saving increased on the vehicle.
Telsa users have noticed the update and posted tweets and videos on Twitter explaining the feature and more. Here are some tweets:
