Tesla Rolls Out Software Update 2025.26 with Grok AI, Light Sync, and More

Tesla has announced a new software update, version 2025.26, bringing Grok AI to Tesla vehicles. However, Grok is not universally available across all Tesla models. It is pre-installed in vehicles delivered from July 12, 2025, onwards.

Existing Tesla owners need an AMD processor and a compatible model like the Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, or Cybertruck to access Grok. Additionally, they must have the vehicle software version 2025.26 and either Premium Connectivity or a Wi-Fi connection.

New Features in Tesla Software Update

The Light Sync feature is another highlight of the latest software update. It synchronises vehicle lights with music for a more engaging experience. Users can also match the lights to the album's colour for added effect. This feature is exclusive to newer models like the latest Model 3 and Model Y and will be available in upcoming versions of the Model S, Model X, and Cybertruck set for release in 2026.

Audio settings have also seen improvements with this update. Drivers can now create and save multiple presets tailored to their listening preferences. This enhancement ensures that users can enjoy a personalised audio experience while on the road.

The Dashcam Viewer app has been updated too. Users can now zoom in on footage or adjust playback speed for better analysis of recordings. The Cybertruck benefits from this update with a grid view for easier access and review of dashcam recordings.

Enhanced Charging Information

Tesla has made charging more convenient by updating its charger list information. Now, drivers can see which charging locations require valet service or pay-to-park access before arriving at their destination. Upon arrival, notifications provide access codes, parking restrictions, level or floor details, and restroom availability.
