Twitter, the micro-blogging website has revamped its look to facilitate easy micro-blogging service to the users and also to help the companies to showcase the brands better. This new version that is made available since yesterday features an all new look and a faster and better performance as claimed by the company.
The redesign is due to the reason that Twitter is taking some steps to introduce even more advertising and the important reason is the increase in the competition from the other internet giants like Google Inc and Facebook.
As per Dick Costolo, the CEO of Twitter during the launch of the website's new version at the event conducted at the future headquarters of the company, the company has to offer the fastest yet simplest way to connect to all that they desire and care for the people across the world. The event also had the presence of Jack Dorsey, the co-founder and the Executive Chairman indulged in overseeing the product design and the development efforts taken by the company.
Twitter lets the users to send messages of 140 character length called tweets to other users and it is one of the most famous and used social network like Zynga and Facebook. Apple Inc in October integrated the service of Twitter into a software used in the iPhone and this has increased the sign up for Twitter per month by about 25 percent.
Google has also introduced the Google+, a social network this year and this brings more competition to Twitter despite of its growth. The same day when Twitter has made its new feature, Facebook has also announced its new feature which enables the users to go to a website and subscribe to the updates of the public figures, journalists and celebrities.
Twitter's new version simplifies the service and makes it easy for the new users and lets them simple understand the various features specific to the website like the # symbol used to search. A new section, Discover on the site highlights the topics that are most popular based on the location and the interest of each user.
The new feature has a revamped look on the profile page for the companies to customize the look of the brands and to highlight certain specific content like videos and photos. Earlier, the profile page had a list of the most recent tweets of the company. As per Twitter, the companies like Pepsi and General Electric have made use of this new profile page look. Twitter will slowly make this new look of the profile page available for all the users.
