uTorrent: Users Will Start Receiving 'featured' Torrent Ads

Around 125 million uTorrent users will start receiving ads soon! Reportedly, the company sources confirmed that the uTorrent platform, the most popular client BitTorrent will now feature ad sponsored torrents.

Though the site got popular as a peer to peer sharing platform, it has failed to move ahead with competition getting aggressive in torrenting space. Users won’t be able avoid the ads since they are built-in cloud. This is a new revenue source for uTorrent as advertisers can now reach directly millions of users.

The ads will be displayed on the top of the torrent list. Separate links will be provided for the users to navigate as per their wish. Ads will be displayed for torrent links including movies, games, software and music etc. However, uTorrent has confirmed that files will be downloaded only if the user authorizes for the same.

As per the reports, the latest ads will provide users with demo versions of softwares, games and movie trailers. Users can download it only after they are satisfied with the demo version of the ads being featured. The company sources also clarified that users will be receiving most relevant ads as per their wish.

BitTorrent has also left a statement at a forum post, “You will see a fresh approach to creating a no-nonsense and free torrenting experience. These new changes mark our next step towards finding that difficult balance between keeping our lights on and providing a positive user experience.”

The forum post from BitTorrent also stated, “We may not get it right on the first try but we will continue to improve our efforts based on your feedback.” With this a new era of torrenting starts in uTorrent and we hope that this will be a win-win situation for uTorrent and its millions of users across the world.
