Vivo Ignite 2026 Announced In India: Students Can Win Scholarships Worth Rs 40 Lakh
Vivo is stepping away from the usual smartphone launch cycle for a moment and focusing on students.
The company has announced the fourth edition of Vivo Ignite, its education initiative designed for students from classes 8 to 12 across India. The program encourages students to come up with technology-driven solutions for real-world problems and turn those ideas into actual prototypes.

Registrations are now live on Vivo Ignite’s official website and will remain open until June 30.
What Students Can Submit
Students can participate individually or in groups of up to three members.
This year, entries can be submitted under categories such as:
- Community Development Innovations
- Soft-Tech Innovations
- Agriculture and Climate Change
- Other technology-led problem-solving ideas
Vivo says these ideas should broadly align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), but students still have plenty of flexibility in terms of what they want to build.
What’s New This Year
Vivo has introduced a few new additions for the fourth edition.
One of the biggest changes is special weightage for students from government schools and aspirational districts, which could help make participation more accessible for students outside major cities.
There’s also a new Achiever 30 stage between the Top 200 and Top 10 rounds. Students selected here will receive mentorship from domain experts before moving closer to the final stage.
And for the first time, teachers are being rewarded too.
Teachers of the top 10 finalists will receive an Rs 50,000 innovation grant for promoting STEM education and innovation in their schools.
Scholarships Worth Rs 40 Lakh
The competition will end with a national finale in New Delhi on October 11, where the top 10 finalists will present their prototypes.
Vivo says students can win educational scholarships and rewards worth up to Rs 40 lakh.
The program has been growing steadily as well. Last year alone, Vivo Ignite received over 37,000 registrations from more than 9,000 schools across 660 districts.
