Web Service for Registration of Employers Under ESIC Launched
New Delhi, Dec 12 (PTI) In its effort to enhance ease of doing business, the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) today integrated itself to the E-biz platform which would enable employers to avail ESIC registration through a single portal.
The ESIC under the Labour Ministry is the first organisation to join its services with the E Biz portal which is being implemented by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) under the Commerce Ministry. It will will save employers from going through a cumbersome process of manual registration and also save time.
The E-Biz portal of DIPP aims to create business friendly atmoshphere by making all business related regulatory service available on a single portal. The web service for registration of employers under ESIC through E-Biz was launched by Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya today.
"We are working very closely with DIPP and its E-Biz platform so that the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Make in India is realized. In this series of initiatives, the employer registration service is being launched on E-Biz platform today," Dattatreya said. Officials said that through this, an employer can log on to a single website and access all the regulatory requirements needed for ESIC.
"The benefit of this is that an entrepreneur who wants to start his business, can go to the e-biz portal and from there he can directly generate the employer's code through a simple process," said Anil Kumar Agarwal, Director General, ESIC. He said that ESIC registration is the first service apart from DIPP which is integrated to E-Biz portal.
Dattatreya said that his ministry is taking a series of initiatives for enhancing the ease of doing business, productivity and employability while ensuring labour welfare. He said that Shram Suvidha Portal has already been launched to promote ease of compliance for labour legislations.
"A common registration form across five Acts for ESIC, EPFO, Contract Labour Act and Building and Other Construction Workers Act is also being developed which will be available on the Shram Suvidha Portal," he said. Officials said that by the end of this month, the EPFO service will also be launched in public domain. With this integration of ESIC service and eBiz platform, an important milestone in the electronic service delivery mechanism between entrepreneurs and government departments will be achieved, they said.
