What to expect at Apple WWDC 2012?
The Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2012 is scheduled to happen on June 11th to 15th in San Francisco. It has been held by the Cupertino based company every year. The brand uses the event to announce important launches and changes that are expected to come in future. The iOS 4 was unveiled in June 2010, iOS 5 in June 2011 and so we can expect the iOS 6 to be shown off on Monday.
Lets see what all we can expect from the WWDC 2012. The new iPhone (iPhone 5) and the iPad mini are not in the list.
Facebook Integration
The iOS 6 is expected to have a tight integration with Facebook, the biggest social network. The deep integration with the social network will let the users share content with friends easily, like apps in the App Store and more, claim the rumors.
New Maps app
Apple might introduce a new Maps app (probably iMaps). The rumors and the leaked snaps indicate that the company has developed their own tool to replace the Google Maps. It seems like the tool will have detailed maps in 3D, traffic data and enhanced navigation features. The iPhone can become a complete in-car GPS device.
Siri on iPad
Siri might arrive to iPad with the iOS 6. There were leaked images of the voice assistant working on the tablet. It is not sure whether it is the iPad 2 or the original iPad.
iWallet
Apple is expected to have its own mobile payment service. However, there is no evidence to support this. Maybe not on Monday, but, we expect Apple to come up with this iWallet feature soon.
FaceTime over 3G
FaceTime in the iPhone is a good feature but it has a downside – the requirement of Wi-Fi for it to work. A recent leak suggests that FaceTime can be used over 3G. You can use it anywhere provided you have a jailbroken device with an additional software installed on your device. It will also function when your iPad or iPhone is connected to a 3G mobile hotspot.
