Windows Phone 8.1 Leak Points At More Compact On-Screen Keyboard
Microsoft has been among leaks and rumors for quite a while now. While the company is making its presence felt online with several leaks related to the upcoming Windows 8.1 update, other leaks from the same company are related to its mobile-based Windows Phone 8.1 update.
Recently, new leaks related to the Windows Phone 8.1 update were revealed on the web showing that the update could arrive with a more compact on-screen keyboard.
And if the concept of phones seeing more and more increased displays with the Windows Phone-based phones taking up half the display to feature the on-board keyboard is concerned, it may seem like the new leak could indeed have some truth to it.
However, the new leak for the same now suggests that the upcoming Windows Phone 8.1 may work on making the operating system a better fit for bigger phablets, thus offering an alternate and slimmed-down version of the on-screen keyboard.

The new keyboard, as revealed via the new leak, isn't really a huge improvement over what we have seen in the recent past for Windows Phone-based devices with the key layout remaining largely untouched. However, the leak does show a keyboard that keeps its horizontal spacing intact while making every key half as tall, when compared to the usual. The end result here is that users will get to save more screen spaces.
Microsoft is currently expected to cover all of the new features in Windows Phone 8.1 during its BUILD developer conference in April. And whether or not the new keyboard concept makes its way with the new update is yet to be seen.

However, we are guessing that there will indeed be some tweaks that will make the keyboard a bit manageable when on higher resolution displays.
