In recent events the Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus' online payment platform suffered a credit card breach. It was reported that credit card information of around 40,000 users were leaked. Following the news of breach, OnePlus temporarily suspended credit card payments on its online store, but the damage was already done. Initially OnePlus had claimed that their online payment portals were secure however the company later admitted that one of their systems was hacked.

OnePlus also admitted that a malicious script was introduced into the payment page code by the hackers to steal the credit card information. It seems like companies are experiencing a tough time keeping hackers at bay. In the recent years the companies have experienced one or other security flaw which eventually harms a company's consumer base. Following these attacks the service providers or the companies need a stringent policy to tackle all the leaks and attacks on the user base.

Now the tech giant Xiaomi is in news for one such security flaw in its website in India. As per some reports from the Beebom some users took it to reddit to notify that Xiaomi India's webpage is lacking the secure payment page. This comes as a surprise to the users as all the companies are trying to cope up with the leaks and this could be a fatal mistake which the company Xiaomi needs to take care of immediately.

The reports further suggest that both Chrome and Firefox list URL buy.mi.com as "Not Secure". However the Xiaomi's payment page claims that "100% security is guaranteed, while the column where the users have to enter their card details is not secure. When a user is making the payment and is on the part where he has to enter the card details, the browser pop-up states that "You should not enter any sensitive information on this site which includes password or credit cards because it could be stolen by hackers."

After the launch of latest Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro, the risk of data theft is increased as a new customer base is added to Xiaomi assuming both the smartphones will sell at a higher number following the specs it provides in a budget range.
