Xiaomi Redmi 2 And MiPad India Launch Expected on March 12

Xiaomi India has launched a new contest on its official site and has teased the launch of a new product on March 12. The Chinese advertised via Facebook and Twitter posts. The new product is most likely to launch on March 12 is the Xiaomi Redmi 2.

The device hidden in the puzzle suggest Xiaomi RedMi 2 will be the device on sale as they keywords including NVIDIA, EXPANDABLE, WIDE-ANGLE all suggested it was Xiamoi RedMi 2. However, Xiaomi also teased another puzzle with new keywords like KEPLAR, TEGRA, MOVIES, QUICK CHARGE and most importantly NEW and DUAL SIM leading the clue to the Xiaomi MiPad. Hence, there might be a possibility that Xiaomi will launch flash sale for both RedMi 2 and MiPad on 12th March in India. In addition, winners of the contest will receive a priority pass allowing them to buy a All-New Mi Product.

The word puzzle shared by Xiaomi India had words like quick charge, expandable, e-books, matte, and cortex. Unfortunately, the words don't really hint at a particular product that can be expected to launch on March 12.

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 is expected to launch this week considering that the company's exclusive online partner in India, Flipkart, is no longer selling the Xiaomi Redmi 1S.

Considering that the company is currently selling the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, Mi 4 16GB, and the Mi 4 64GB in India, we can expect the Redmi 2 to take the spot of the budget friendly Redmi 1S.

The dual-SIM dual-standby Xiaomi Redmi 2 sports a 4.7-inch IPS display with HD (720x1280 ppi) resolution and 312ppi. Based on Android 4.4 KitKat, the Redmi 2 features company's own MIUI 6 skin.

It is powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor (Cortex-A53) coupled with 1GB of RAM and Adreno 306 GPU. There is an 8-megapixel rear camera along with a 2-megapxiel front-facing camera. It houses 8GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 32GB). The Xiaomi Redmi 2 is backed by a 2200mAh battery.The company later upgraded the Redmi 2's specifications to include 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage.

On the other hand MiPad has a 7.9-inch (2048 × 1536 pixels) display at 326 ppi and is powered by a 2.2 GHz NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor with 192-core Kepler GPU and runs on Android-based MiUI ROM optimized for tablets. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. There is 2GB of RAM, 16GB / 64GB of internal storage, up to 128GB expandable memory with microSD and 6700 mAh battery.
