Yves Rossi: Only man in the world to fly fastening a jet on his body
In mythological stories such as Ramayana, Mahabharata, Roman Mythology, and even in recent movies such as Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Krrish etc you would have heard and seen super-heroes and super-humans fly.
Technological innovations such as the Aeroplane and the parachute help man to fly and float in the air like a bird. But man still couldn't fly like Superman. Due to the growth and explosion of science and with man's tremendous innovative nature, he has now proved that anything is possible with science and technology. The man in the picture here is Switzerland's Yves Rossy.
Yes, Yves Rossy has achieved something magnificent. In the history of aviation and flying, Rossi is the only man who has flown around freely in the skies just by fastening a jet wing to his body.
Born on the 27th of August 1959 in Switzerland, Rossy, who had watched an Air-Show aged 13 was very much inspired by the act and decided to become a pilot.
Before becoming a pilot in the Swiss Airlines, Yves Rossy obtained expertise in flying aircrafts such as Hawker Hunter and Mirage III. He even flew the Boeing and the Airbus aircrafts. At this juncture, he felt that instead of sitting inside planes and flying them, why not fly freely like a bird?. In order to fulfill this desire of flying freely like a bird, Yves Rossi conducted various experiments and indulged in extensive research.
Finally using 4 powerful jet engines and by making use of Formula 1 jet technology, Rossi undertook his first free flight in the year 2006. This feat was recognized in the year 2008. Then in 2011, he flew over America's Grand Canyon.
This feat ( fastening a jet pack on the body and flying) earned him the nicknames Air Man, Jet Man, Rocket Man and even Fusion Man.
Renowned writer Paul Coelho says “ Life is all about experience”. Technology really gives wings to dreams and gives the best experience, isn't it?
