The ASUS ROG Ally X brings several marginal improvements over the original Ally to improve the overall handheld gaming experience. So here are the biggest improvements on the ROG Ally X.

The AMD Z1 Extreme chip on the ROG Ally X is the same as the ROG Ally. However, the ROG Ally X comes with 24GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD, while the microSD card slot is now positioned on the right.

The ROG Ally X now comes with a massive 80Whr battery, which is twice the size of the 40Whr cell on its predecessor. The new battery can deliver anywhere between 4 to 5 hours of gameplay, depending on the game, resolution, and settings.

The ROG Ally X is only slightly heavier than the original Ally by 70 grams, despite the larger battery. The Ally X has a few modest changes in terms of button placement and side grips, to make the experience more convenient.

ASUS has ditched the XG Mobile eGPU on the Ally X in place on a USB4 port. While you cannot use ASUS’s proprietary XG Mobile eGPU on the Ally X, the USB4 port allows you to connect external eGPUs of your choice.

While the ROG Ally X runs Windows 11 Home, it launched with Armoury Crate SE 1.5, an updated version of the software on the ROG Ally. However, the original Ally is likely to receive this update soon.

The ASUS ROG Ally X price in India is set at Rs 89,990, which twice as much as the ROG Ally. The ASUS ROG Ally price on Amazon India is set at Rs 39,990.
