The Pad SE recently debuted in India’s affordable Android tablet segment. But the affordable price tag brings a few compromises. So let’s find out if the Redmi Pad SE can overcome those compromises to earn our recommendation.

Despite its affordable price tag, the Redmi Pad SE boasts an elegant design with its aluminum frame and smooth matt back and slim bezels on the front. Our model came in a bold Lavender Purple shade.

The Redmi Pad SE’s 11-inch FHD+ LCD panel gives you plenty of screen real estate for all your entertainment needs and the 90Hz refresh rate offers a smooth and fluid navigation experience.

For power, the Redmi Pad SE is equipped with the Snapdragon 680 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, enabling smooth multitasking performance between apps but can’t handle demanding games.

The 8,000 mAh cell on the Pad SE offers excellent battery life, while the Snapdragon chip is efficient. While the tablet does support 18W fast charging, only a 10W adapter is included in the box.

On the software side, this budget Android tablet runs MIUI Pad 14 based on Android 13. Xiaomi promises two years of major OS updates and three years of regular security patches on the Pad SE.

The cameras on the Pad SE are nothing special with the 5 MP front camera only useful for video calls. The rear 8 MP camera with the f/2.2 aperture can come in clutch for scanning documents.
