Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 3G and WiFi-Only Variant Now Available Online at Rs 10,999 and Rs 13,999
Amazon's second generation Kindle Paperwhite e-book reader was up for pre-orders back in mid-January. The device has is now being offered via the company's site at the price of Rs. 10,999. The device is successor to the first Paperwhite which was launched in India back in June 2013. However, this is the WiFi-only model we are talking about. The 3G variant of the Paperwhite will cost you Rs. 13,999. On the other hand, however, the company has already stopped selling the older Paperwhite on its India website.
The New Kindle Paperwhite comes with the same 6-inch display with a 1024 x 768 pixels resolution and also churns out an average 212 ppi pixel density.

Kindle Paperwhite features new display technology with improved built-in light and is powered by 25% faster processor and new touch technology with 19% tighter touch grid for better sensitivity.

It comes with the dual WiFi 802.11 b/g/n support with a 2 GB of internal memory (1.25 GB user accessible memory) to store about 1000 Books.
The e-reader also boasts some new features such as Kindle Page Flip in-line footnotes, Freetime and Vocabulary Builder. The e-reader now also offers Facebook and Twitter integration for sharing recommendations, highlighted sections and quotes.
The device comes with a built-in parental controls, which is an engaging way to encourage kids to spend more time reading. Users can hand-select books for their kids to read, and hand out achievement badges when they hit reading milestones.
A progress report keeps parents updated on total time spent reading, number of words looked up, badges earned and books finished.
It features a New Smart Lookup which integrates a full dictionary definition with other reference information about a word, character, topic or book via X-Ray and Wikipedia.
Smart Lookup recognizes this as an important topic and phrase in the book, and gives you the correct definition of "credit default swaps" via X-Ray.
Moreover, the new Paperwhite weighs 206gm and offers a battery backup of 8 weeks on a single charge.
