HP Slate 7 Hits UK Market: What about India Launch?
HP has tried its hands, when it comes to ‘connected devices'. From WebOS to several failed devices under its kitty, the American giant has planned yet another attempt to reach out modern day consumers.
Despite repeated failure, HP is of course better placed than its nearest rival - Dell. Earlier this year at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013, HP presented its own age tablet device called Slate 7. The device is like any regular Android powered tablet with no frills attached to it. The HP Slate 7 is set to cost consumer $170(Rs. 9,183), and in the UK, it will be made available at £129 (Rs.10,630).
HP Slate 7 - Competition check
HP started its tablet journey with WebOS powered TouchPad few years ago. The failure made HP, a kind of learning by going for Android mobile OS. Now in 2013, HP once again emerges as sleepy dragon, and finally segregating itself.
And the result is in front of us - HP Slate 7, a low end Android run tablet device. In terms of competition there are many tablets placed under Rs.15, 000. The most visible and the brightest gem that changed the way we perceive a 7-inch tablet is the one and only - Asus Nexus 7. Priced at Rs.15,999 in the India market, it is way comfortable to purchase than Apple iPad Mini, which goes for Rs. 21,900.
Other than the Asus Nexus 7, there are other tablet devices available such as the Asus MeMo Pad 7, and Acer Iconia B1. Both of them are priced under Rs.10, 000 considering these slates are targeted to the lower end of the market.

HP Slate 7 - India Launch
Well, the latest tab has not been released in the country as far yet. However, possibilities of its release are quite near, observing the UK launch. Numerous report have also claimed that the HP Slate 7 will hit Indian boundaries sometime in May and will get released in the market during June 2013 at a price tag competent to Nexus 7 and iPad mini.
