When the Nexus 9 made its debut last year, it became a serious competitor to the Apple iPad Air 2 and put HTC back into the tablet market. A year ago thinking that HTC could be on par with Apple - and perhaps even outrank the tech giant would have been considered joke. However, signs point that HTC is pretty serious about getting into the tablet market without any support.

While the Nexus 9 was made in partnership with Google, it seems that HTC might be thinking to jump into the tablet market anytime soon. According to leakster @Upleaks, HTC is set to enter the highly saturated tablet market sometime in 2015.

HTC To Launch Own-Branded Tablet in 2015 [REPORT]

As per the high-profile leakster, HTC's forthcoming tablet is expected to be similar to that of the Nexus 9 - at least in terms of the design and dimensions. The specs, however, are said to be different from the ones of the Nexus 9.

Not much else is known about the alleged HTC-made tablet, but if true it could pose a significant rival to Apple iPad Air 3, which is expected to make its debut in the second half of 2015.

However, we should also point out that HTC has a decent track record on the smartphone front, but a miserable on the tablet market scene. In the fast-moving world of technology, though, anything can happen.
