It can be said that the India based manufacturers have penetrated deep into the trending tablet market segment. The India based vendors have started gaining the benefits from their efforts as they have brought in more and more improvements to their offerings.
Accessory manufacturer, iBall is one such firm which is actually focusing on the booming smartphone and tablet market. The company is concentrated in offering budget friendly products packed with powerful specifications.

Preloaded Applications

Price & Freebies
iBall Edu-Slide tablet is priced at Rs 12,999 and as a launch offer, the company will provide free content along with the device till April 15, 2013.
iBall Edu Slide - The Goods & The Bads
Being the first Jelly Bean tablet from iBall, Edu Slide has impressive specifications on paper. However, the tablet market in India is already occupied with several Jelly Bean offerings from different homegrown manufacturers including Karbonn, Micromax and more. Hence, consumers might find it difficult on which one to buy. Therefore, Gizbot has taken efforts to list out the goods and the bads of the iBall tablet making it easy for consumers to get an idea of the device.
IPS Display - Average
As mentioned above, Edu Slide sports a 10.1 inch multi-touch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. IPS display panels are used to solve the limitations in LCD displays like slow response times, low quality color reproduction and small viewing angles. Also, the IPS technology paves way for more consistent and accurate color reproduction from any viewing angle.
Processor & RAM Combo - Bad
Though Edu-Slide is based oh Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, the tablet is equipped with a low processor and a not very impressive RAM capacity. Hence, the likes of Android Jelly Bean OS may not be fully available to the consumers owing to the low spec combination of processor and RAM.
Camera - Average
Edu-Slide packs a 2MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front camera for video calling. The camera is capable of capturing decent images for students to share photography of important text notes or for video chatting with their mentors. However, a better camera performance might have been a good welcome from consumers.
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS - Good
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean has new features including Project Butter for smoother and more responsive interface, expandable and contractible notifications, resizable app widgets, live wallpaper preview, high resolution contact photos, improved Android Beam, better camera interface and improved Google Now.
Lack of 3G - Bad
Of course, the presence of 3G is not mandatory for tablets, however, it helps consumers to connect to Internet even in the absence of Wi-Fi. At least external 3G support via dongles could have been a good choice as not all consumers would have Wi-Fi connectivity.
Educational Software Content - Good
eTeach curriculum is based on the one provided by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). It provides easy access to tests and question banks, which are evaluated on a real - time basis providing users a platform to gauge own performance. Doubt clearance is also possible by interacting with subject matter experts online and all the content available is ‘Sharable Content Object Reference Model' compliant.
