Intex iBuddy Connect vs iBall iSlide i6516: Which Rs 7,990 Android ICS Tablet is Best For You?
Back in October, Apple unwrapped the miniature version of the tablet market dominator iPad with its 7.9 inch tablet - iPad Mini, in order to place a strong foothold of the booming 7 inch tablet market across the world, which is dominated by Android tablets including Google Nexus 7, Amazon Kindle Fire and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.
When it comes to Indian market, the 7 inch tablet market is dominated by homegrown manufacturers including Micromax, who has surpassed the sales of Samsung in the Q2 of this year. However, Micromax is not the only player in the market and there are many other companies that are offering quality low cost products.
Two such tablet manufacturers - Intex and iBall are constantly coming up with their Android ICS based tablets at budget price points. Recently, the Indian tablet market has witnessed the launch of iBall iSlide i6516 and Intex iBuddy Connect at the same price point of Rs 7,990 and Android ICS operating system. Hence, or those readers who are looking forward to buy a tablet, below is a comparison between the two new market entrants for this holiday season.
Display: Both the tablets have a 7 inch capacitive touchscreen display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution. However, the iBall offering sports an IPS display with better viewing angles.
Processor: In this segment, the Intex offering comes with a 1GHz processor, whereas, the iBall offering is powered with a 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor, which is relatively faster.
Operating System: Similar to the other budget tablets available out there, both the device come flavored with Android 4.0 ICS operating system.
Camera: When it comes to camera optics, both the tablet head against each other with a 2MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front camera for video calling.
Connectivity: In terms of connectivity, the iBall offering comes packed with built-in Wi-Fi, USB port, Bluetooth and external 3G support. On the other hand, the Intex offering has SIM support for voice calling, 3G through dongle, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and HDMI.
Battery: Intex iBuddy Connect is loaded with a 3,000 mAh battery and iBall iSlide i6516 comes powered with a 4,000 mAh battery.
Price: On the pricing front, both the tablets are priced at Rs 7,990.
Verdict
Being Android 4.0 ICS tablets, both Intex iBuddy Connect and iBall iSlide i6516 will offer similar user experience and skin.
When it comes to software features, iBuddy Connect comes preloaded with a plethora of apps including Nimbuzz, Skype, Facebook, India Today and Aaj Tak.
At the same time, iSlide i6516 comes loaded with apps including Whatsapp, Facebook, Zomato and CricketNext.
If the concern is on a voice calling tablet with SIM slot and bundled freebies including an exclusive leather cover with attached keyboard worth Rs 1,500, iBuddy Connect should be the right choice.
On the other hand, if the concern is on a better display, faster processor and a relatively improved battery capacity, the iBall offering could be a better option.
