The Minister did not mention about the exact specifications sheet of Aakash tablet at an event organised by CII, but does mention that the tablet will support 4G network, phone calling facility, 4GB of internal memory and Bluetooth connection. The Directorate General of Supplies and Disposals (DGS&D) will start the process for orders, he added.
In fact, the specification of Aakash 4 tablet was released last month. The device will have a 7-inch display having resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The tablet will also be able to dual-boot Android and Linux via microSD card. RAM stands at 1GB (DDR3 SDRAM) and 4GB of ROM with expandable storage up to 32GB.
Further, Aakash 4 will be supported by Wi-Fi and 2G/3G connectivity. The form factor is still unknown, but it will have USB ports.
