Kobian launches mTAB Lite at Rs 6,000: Top 5 Cheapest Voice Calling Tablet

Kobian, one of the computer peripherals and tablets manufacturers, has recently launched an ultra-thin tablet called mTAB Lite measuring 12mm thick and weighing 320gms. mTAB Lite sports a 7 inch capacitive five point touch screen display and has a trending voice calling capability. The tablet that supports 2G connectivity has been priced decently at Rs. 6,000 along with one year warranty.

Going by the specs, Mercury mTAB Lite comes with an Android 4.0 platform which is quite older compared to the ones that are being launched with Jelly Bean ones. The tablet is powered by a 1GHz Vimicro Cortex A8 processor and backed by a 512MB DDRM RAM. Internal storage capacity of the tablet is 4GB and supports 32GB extendable memory via Micro SD card.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, supports 2G SIM calling and IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth of BT 3.0 and multiple I/O ports, with 1 SIM slot and Micro USB 2.0. It also comes with an Adobe Flash 11.1. The latest budget tablet sports a 0.3 megapixel camera on both front and rear side. The device houses a built-in speaker with full HD, 3 Axis - G sensor, TF card slot, 3.5mm stereo port and DC Jack. The mTAB Lite comes with the battery capacity of 3.7V 2700mah.

Considering the tablet market in India, mTAB Lite is likely to face a lot of barriers ahead as It features a lesser version of Android OS, RAM and camera. However this could be the second cheapest voice calling tablet in the country so far. But one can find quite a number of tablets with better features in a similar range. It is likely to face a harsh competition from Ambrane AC-770 Tablet, Salora Fontab Tablet, Go Tech Funtab 7.1 Talk, Swipe Halo Value Tablet, Karbonn Smart A34 Tablet, Micromax Funbook Talk P362 Tablet and also the recently launched Celkon CT910+ HD.

Salora Fontab Tablet has a better resolution and comes with a competitive specs compared to others. Thus this could be a safer buy though it is quite expensive than the latest one.

Swipe Halo Value tablet is nearly similar to the latest mTAB Lite from Kobian but it has a better processor, camera newer version of Android. Thus, buyers can also take this one as an option.

Micromax Funbook Talk tablet sports a 7 inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with the screen resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and color depth of 16 M. The tablet is powered by a 1.2 GHz Cortex-A9 processor and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system and is supported by 1 GB RAM. The tablet houses an internal storage of 4GB which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. It also sports a 2-megapixel rear camera along with a 0.3 MP front camera. Although, specwise Micromax Funbook Talk is superior than the mTAB Lite tablet, it may lack on the resolution front. However, one can also prefer this tablet if his budget is not confined to Rs. 6,000.

 

Celkon CT910+ HD Tablet

The CT910+ HD sports a 7-inch HD display and comes with a 5 point multi-touch screen. The tablet is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor. On the software front, the tablet runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system. It also sports a 2-megapixel rear camera along with a VGA front camera. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, 3G Bluetooth and GPS. The tablet supports voice calling and supports 3G via the SIM card. No other details are mentioned regarding RAM and internal storage capacity but the latest budget tablet is powered by a 3,500mAh battery. The device is priced at Rs. 7,999.
Celkon CT910+ HD Tablet is better in all the aspects if compared to the mTAB Lite. The only aspect where it fails to compete with the mTAB Lite is on pricing. But one has to sacrifice their money to get the better one always.
