While Lenovo is launching a slew of new devices at the CES 2013 progressing in Las Vegas, however the world's one of the top PC makers has not forgotten their most important market, that is, India. This can be said, as amid the CES fanfare, Lenovo has released a new Android 4.0 based 7 inch tablet in the country today - IdeaTab A2107 - at a budget price of Rs 14,000.

 

Taking a look at specs, the newly arrived affordable tablet appears decent, as IdeaTab A2107 runs on Android 4.0 ICS and has been packed with several entertainment features including dual stereo speakers, dual cameras and more. Further, several reports claim that the dual SIM version of the tablet with 3G and 2G support is also on cards.

On the software side, the tablet is preloaded with a host of applications including Shazam, Skype, ooVoo, Slacker, Lenovo App Shop, Kindle, ES File Manager, Evernote, Cut the Rope, AccuWeather, Amazon MP3 and Norton Mobile Security.

Speaking of the Indian price tag, Lenovo has priced the IdeaTab A2107 at Rs 14,000, making it a reasonable offering as compared to the other devices in similar price points.

Priced at Rs 19,300, the Galaxy Tab might be expensive as compared to the Lenovo offering, however, it comes with SIM card slot for voice calling and has also received the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade. Hence, it could be a stiff competitor to IdeaTab A2107.

Huawei has recently launched a tablet in India with a 7 inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display of 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, 1.2Ghz Cortex A8 processor, Android 4.0 ICS operating system, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage, micro SD card slot supporting up to 32GB expandable storage, 3.2MP rear camera, 0.3MP front camera for video calling, Bluetooth, 3G, Wi-Fi, micro USB and a 4,100 mAh Li-Po battery offering 12 hours of talk time and 200 hours standby.

Priced at Rs 13,700, the Huawei tablet with a slightly faster processor and better battery backup can be a potential rival to the Lenovo offering.

It is equipped with a 1 GHz Cortex A9 processor, 1 GB RAM and an onboard memory capacity of 8 GB, which can be expanded to 32 GB via the micro SD card slot. The tablet is fitted with a mini HDMI port and a mini USB port. It is powered by a 4000 mAh Li-ion battery and comes with connectivity features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G with the in-built SIM slot.

Coming with a SIM card slot and being available at Rs 14,999, ME Y2 tablet with similar specifications could be a hard hitting challenger of the Lenovo tablet.

With the popularity of voice calling tablets, Pune based manufacturer Byond has also come up with Mi-Book Mi7 priced at Rs 10,999.

As far as the specifications of the Byond Mi-Book Mi7 is concerned, the 7 inch capacitive display tablet will run on Google's Android 4.0 ICS OS along with the power of 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, supported by 512MB RAM. Furthermore, the tablet will house 2 MP rear and VGA front camera, 4GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 32GB with micro-SD card slot, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, G-Sensor along with solid 3,200 mAh Li-ion battery.

Again, with a significantly lesser price tag, Byond tablet with SIM card slot and faster processor could be a rival to A2107, however, the latter comes with better battery backup and increased internal storage options.

The latest offering from iBall - iSlide i6516 sports a 7 inch IPS HD capacitive touchscreen display with better viewing angles, 1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor, 1GB RAM, Android ICS, 2MP rear camera, front facing VGA camera for video calling, Wi-Fi, micro USB port, HDMI port, Bluetooth and a 4,000 mAh battery capable of offering a decent backup.

Moreover, the new tablet is priced at Rs 7,990 making it affordable as compared to the Lenovo offering with a slower processor.
