New Samsung Tablet Featuring AMOLED Display with 2K Resolution Still on the Cards
Samsung may have officially announced the newest and upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 at this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in Barcelona, Spain. But that doesn't mean that the company will now look to base all its energies focused around the same technology all year round with reports now flowing in related to a similar Samsung-made tablet device.
According to reports, new details have been received about a certain tablet from Samsung that's currently in production. Apparently, the company is said to be working on a tablet with a Super AMOLED display that will arrive as a follow up to its first and only AMOLED tablet, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 from 2011.
Now, details revealed to SamMobile related to the new device have hinted at the possibilty of the new device coming in Wi-Fi, 3G and LTE variants with model numbers SM-T800, SM-T801, and SM-T805. Apart from that, the display resolution for the device is also said to churn out an impressive 2560×1600 pixels - similar to the recently released Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO tablets.
As far as more details related to the device at the moment are concerned, the tablet is said to be powered by a Exynos 5 series processor, and will run on Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box. And as usual, the company's popular TouchWiz overlay will be slapped onto it including the Magazine UX.

"Samsung is testing some Galaxy S5 features on the AMOLED tablet, like the Ultra Power Saving Mode function, which saves battery life by disabling things like background data, color output of the display, and more, which should be particularly helpful given the type of display," the SamMobile report states.

Apart from that, similar to the TabPRO and NotePRO tablets, the new AMOLED tablet from Samsung is said to come with a high price tag and may also act as Samsung's flagship tablet upon launch.
