Nokia Working on Windows 8 Tablet Equipped With Detachable Keyboard And Kickstand
Nokia has been busy crafting a tablet device for the past few years. The development started even before Microsoft's Surface was announced. Since then, there hasn't any concrete information passed on by blogger community.
This time around a patent application has surfaced, which was filed by the Finnish giant, back in 2011. Known by the name "Apparatus Cover with Keyboard", it is very much like Surface detachable keyboard( via Unwired View).
As per the shown images, one can change the positioning of cover as per convenience. This could be Nokia's attempt to take on Apple iPad. If that is the case, one could see Lumia branded tablet device as early as this year.
After all, Nokia took a long time to enter touch screen phone segment, so naturally it is quite difficult for a crash crunched firm to invest heavily in another segment of devices. According to speculation, Nokia may all together skip Windows RT edition in lieu of Windows 8 OS, to better position its tablet device. Recently a developer echoed loud about Nokia Windows 8 tablet. It is said that Nokia is planning to bundle exclusive apps in order to get mileage.
"Helped design and concept the Adidas micoach app proposal for the Nokia Tablet. The Tablet App intended to be an extension of coaches allowing them to build teams and monitor individual trainings for each athlete. The way that works is to connect he app to existing technology on Adidas products to read the workout data registered by cell chip implants. The app also tapped into the community allowing users to challenge each other by sending notifications to friends and their social feeds" , as per anonymous developer , who has worked with Nokia on so called - exclusive app.
Earlier this year, Nokia held press meet in Pakistan, where they announced Windows specific products. There a peculiar Windows powered tablet was spotted on one of the hoardings. Then Nokia came in open by announcing that it was simply an example of WP UI.
Well, these tech vendors do plan futuristic devices in advance. Take this information as grain of salt because Nokia never came in open, and expressed its view on future tablet devices. Stay tuned to GizBot.
