Simmtronics XPAD X-722 Vs Salora Fontab: Which Budget Calling Tablet is Better?

The midrange tablet market has been growing fast in India and with the advent of Amazon, it has already been quite a scene. Asus has its few tablets in the market along with Nexus 7, HCL has its own Me Series, Micromax, Karbonn and others are there which has offered a decent budget-friendly devices. However, if one notices, there are quite a number of devices in the Indian market that fall in the lower price category.
Recently, Simmtronics launched their XPAD X-722 voice-calling tablet in the Indian tablet arena. Moreover one more tablet was launched couple of months back called Salora Fontab Tablet. They both come at a similar price range.

Now GizBot has come up with a brief comparison between the two tablets that has recently occupied the budget range category in India.

Display

The Simmtronics XPAD X-722 tablet features a 7-inch TFT LCD capacitive touchscreen and IPS display with a pixel resolution of 800x 480. On the other hand Salora Fontab features a 7 inch multi touch capacitive HD TFT screen with a higher resolution of 1024 X 600 pixel and pixel density of 180ppi.

Processor, RAM and OS

Simmtronics XPAD X-722 runs on older version of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and is powered by a 1 GHz Cortex A8 1.0GHz 2D/3D processor which is backed by 512MB DDR3 RAM while the Salora Fontab is powered by Cortex A9, 1.5 GHz super fast processor and running on Android 4.1 Jelly bean. The tablet comes well equipped with 1GB RAM.

Camera

Both Simmtronics XPAD X-722 tablet Salora Fontab come with a similar 2MP rear camera and 0.3MP front facing camera.

Connectivity

Both Simmtronics XPAD X-722 tablet Salora Fontab comes with the 3G dongle support while the Salora Fontab has an advantage of by having an HDMI as well. Both have microUSB, GPRS, EDGE and Bluetooth support and are WiFi enabled. Both devices offer a 2G voice calling facility.

Storage and Battery

Both share a similar Simmtronics XPAD X-722 tablet and Salora Fontab tablet have 4GB built-in storage and expandable storage up to 32GB via microSD card. They both are also powered by the same 3500mAh Li-Po battery.

Price and Availability

Simmtronics XPAD X-722 tablet is priced at Rs. 5,999 while the Salora Fontab tablet is priced at Rs. 6,890. Both the tablets are available on Flipkart.

Conclusion

There is a mild difference between both the tablets in almost all the aspects. Salora Fontab has better specs altogether with better screen resolution, higher processor and better RAM and newer version of Android OS. Although, the Salora Fontab is about Rs. 800 more than the Simmtronics XPAD X-722 tablet, the money is worth the specs. Thus Salora Fontab is certainly a safe buy.
